The WACKIEST Clown In Town

Boo was born, hatched,. . .or where ever clowns come from on June 4, 1977. He was named after Bruce Long II, as his nickname was Boo. His mother and I thought Boo Boo would be a good clown name and easy for kids to remember.

It all started on June 4, 1977, when Bruce Long crossed the "Hot Sands" of AKDAR Shrine Temple in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His friend and first line signer, Ron Leaverton, said, "you gota be a clown". So herrrrre's Boo Boo!

One Saturday morning in 1977 while watching cartoons, he saw the Coyote after the Roadrunner on a pair of Roller Skis and he said, "I can do that". So Roller Skis were created. They worked great when pulled throught parades by the clown car on a 35 foot ski rope. In fact, in 1988, Boo Boo was the first and only clown to get perfect 10 scores from all the judges in parade competition at C.S.S.C.A. (Central States Shrine Clown Association)

In 1978 the first skit he was in, he won first place. Along with his brother, Steve, and Newell Barker, they did a skit about a ski jumper. In the skit, Bruce skied down a ramp 18" wide and Steve skated down the ramp
from atop a 6' 6" scaffold, it was quite a ride.

In 1979 they took the same skit to the ISCA (International Shrine Clown Association) Midwinter in Jackson, Mississippi, where they were invited to do it as an exhibition. While at the Midwinter, Boo Boo won First Place in Single Stunt (with Air Powered Roller Skis) and Third Place in Paradeability. This was also where he learned NOT to put red makeup on his upper lip. Boo Boo looked terrible and he realized it. Most of the other clowns looked great compared to him! He decided to work on his makeup and has evolved to what you see in the pictures of this web site. He has been evolving for 30 years and will continue to do so.
